Revisions to ACM0008 to Include Methane Capture and Destruction from Abandoned Coal Mines, v1.0
This methodology quantifies the emissions reductions generated by capturing and destroying methane from abandoned/decommissioned coal mines. The capture and destruction of methane prevents the GHG from being emitted into the atmosphere during once a coal mine is abandoned. The methodology quantifies GHG emission reductions by providing an approach to determine the quantity of methane that would be released without the project.
This methodology is a revision of the CDM ACM0008 Consolidated methodology for coal bed methane, coal mine methane and ventilation air methane capture and use for power (electrical or motive) and heat and/or destruction through flaring of flameless oxidation to include abandoned/decommissioned mines.
